Chasing the Flow

Fourth place at the Red Bull X-Alps 2025 fell short of Chrigel Maurer’s expectations. Together with his team he analysed the race and fine-tuned every detail for the X-Pyr 2026 – with one goal: to find their flow again.

The race covered around 530 kilometres on foot and by paraglider from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean, from Hondarribia to El Port de la Selva. Around 50 athletes started, each with their own team. After 3 days and 7 hours Chrigel reached the Mediterranean and won the X-Pyr for the fifth time, in record time.

The footage was shot by Chrigel, his team and a professional film crew. The audience experiences the same moments from the air and from the ground and feels what that flow is like from the inside.

“Chasing the Flow” is the pilot film of a two-part project. The main film is being made at the Red Bull X-Alps 2027, Chrigel’s tenth start in the race.
